The EXPLAIN project brings together different commercial and academic organizations with the joint goal of enriching industrial AI with explainability and interactivity. After a over a year of our initial discussion about the project proposal in the middle of the Covid-19 lockdown we finally came together on September – 22nd September 2022 in Ladenburg at the ABB Corporate Research Center. 

26 participants from 15 partners discussed the AI use cases of the industrial process operators Boliden, LEAG, Signify and Södra and developed first proto or lightweight personas of key users or stakeholders of industrial AI systems.

Besides this group work we enjoyed many fruitful discussion and the great and important opportunity for networking within the large and motivated group of researchers and industrial practitioners.
